] Is anyone familiar with this term? It seems that a few times throughout London's history, the Thames froze in the winter due to poor current. The last time this happened was in the winter of 1813-14. (With the construction of the New London Bridge, the flow problem was remedied.)

] Various events took place from the traditional livestock trading to more 'genteel' diversions including horse racing and the Prince Regent participating in a fox hunt.

] I am very curious to know more about these fairs, or fairs and social gatherings in general: Were they at all akin to Vaux Hall, etc.? Were the 'classes' separated in this sort of fun?

] Any information or feedback would be greatly appreciated.
] Thanks.

] For anyone interested, I received that bit of information from a book on Georgian London. I have the name of the author and ISBN # at home if anyone wants it.

Yes, please!
