I don' think that men, who have regardless of social standing held first class citizenship, realize what being owned means.
They aren't being condesending, nessecarily, but they have perhaps taken thier own rights for granted. We don't...they were hard fought and hard won. My Mother still feels somewhat "owned"...her self-worth being entirely linked with my father.
Miller doesn't understand what that feels like. I understand his confusion.......the grass is always greener........
