In response to Marriage Proposal, written by Patrick D on February 25, 1998 at 08:49:36
Tears welled up in my eyes as I read it and I had to blink them away to read the last lines. It is all good, but here are the parts that struck me in particular:
I have brought you here, to your ancestral home, because I can wait no longer. You pierce my soul. I am half agony, half hope -- for, while I dare to ask, it is you who will decide.
from the first evening I have loved you.
(It was the same with my husband and myself)
Applauding your uniqueness, bowing to your independence, still I insist that we belong together. We are the same kind.
Tell me at once: Say "Yes" if you will marry me. Say "No" if it is to be said. Promising you all the happiness that a man can offer a lady, I beg you to be my bride. Lynn Torbit McConnell, will you marry me? One word, one look, will be answer enough.
