Madam,

I have a few books and article which cover the period of the Surrender of Fort Detroit. I can e-mail you a list of what I have on hand, although most of my information covers the Niagara and St. Lawrence Frontiers, and books on tactics, etc.

The only Regiment I can point to would be the 41st Foot. There was also a detachment of the Royal Newfoundland Regiment, and a few Royal Artillery (who simply were not "gentlemen"); but I think you will want to stick with the 41st. The First Battalion of that regiment came to Canada in 1800, and was scheduled to return home when war was declared. You should be able to create a story of how your character was sent out to Canada, perhaps through the Second Battalion. (The Second Battalion did arrive in 1814.)

If you have further questions, do not hesitate to contact me by e-mail.

I remain, etc.
Jason Everett
