To L and T indexOur Fanny married a romantic, peniless, emigré Vicomte, Lesley. They subsisted on her pension of $300 a year, and he took to gardening, but pulled up all her asparagus because he thought it was a weed, if you are to belive her diaries( and why not?:-) )

It's also mentioned in the Jane Austen Household Book, in the bib.
