How fashions come & go!

To L and T indexDon't anybody laugh (and no frowns either!) but has anyone watched General Hospital the last two days? Monica Quartermain has been wearing a fine satin evening dress that just might be acceptable in a Regency drawing room. (She even has her hair up!) If anyone is interested, she might be still in the dress on Monday, given that she is stuck in some restaurant do to the weather.

Which leads me to the subject of fashion evolution. This fashion has derived, of course, from the late 60's and early 70's. Only in this latter period it was more natural, with homespun cotton-like materials, flower-girl type stuff. The high waist and free flowingness is the same though. These days it is silk, fine embroidery, lace, satin, more sophistication, etc. Where did the 60's and 70's get thier inspiration? Empire/Regency of course. We'll see it again in a few decades!

Just an observation,

Now that everyone thinks I watch soap operas all day long...
