I'd rather be a servant anytime. Employment as a servant was well sought after by the lower class. They were generally given a warm bed, clean linen, food, and really the only danger, for a woman, would have been perhaps the master wanting to "express himself disgracefully." Farm workers had it very rough, the job was tough in itself but could also prove most dangerous. As far as being a factory worker, history has shown us quite clearly how dreadful a life those people led. I bow to subserviency!
