For those of you who watched A Midwife's Tale on PBS and are in striking distance of Indianapolis:

On April 4 in Indy, as part of the annual meeting of the Organization of American Historians (OAH), there will be a session entitled "Discovering the World of Martha Ballard: A Midwife's Tale in Film" with a panel that includes the film makers, the historian (Laura Thatcher Ulrich) and several others with opportunity for questions and comments from the audience. I'm not sure what the cost of one-day registration is for the conference, but if anyone is really interested you can e-mail me and I'll try to find out. I assume they will have one-day registration available since most do. (I'm tentatively planning to go for the whole 4-day shebang, which is $60 for OAH members.)

I'm hoping there will be discussion about how they decided such things as costume, dialect and so forth when filming.
