] The parts in bold especially seemed to apply to Austen as well. IMO, at least!
I agree, Michele. In fact, her unpolitical approach is what makes her novels ageless. Social and economic differences are ongoing regardless of the century; for me, the themes are as relevant today as I presume they were in the past.
