My clock just about fits the description of your's. The ornate carvings of oak, I think oak, are acorns and leaves. The glass door is drawn with sprouting corn and a few flowers, as well as a spider's web and a spider. That spider always struck me as odd. The timer, though, I find remarkable. Can you imagine some aproned lady setting her timer before sliding her bird into the hot oven? I wish I had asked my grandfather about it. I accidently broke a part of the wood at the top and I wonder, if I had known it was so old, would I have let that happen? I suppose I should have taken better care of it regardless of the age as my grnadfather had taken such care with it! Thank you for the advice. I shall definately act upon it.
