This subject comes up time and time again. The short answer is that it's impossible to exactly correlate money then with money now, because values of everything have changed so much. We have found scholarly sources. If you wish to know more about them, go to the Archives of this page (you can see the link at the top of the board) and use the search engine there. The search word "money" will bring up over a dozen posts.......
