Try "The Eyes of the Fleet, A Popular History of Frigates & Frigate Captains, 1793-1815" by Anthony Price $25

It don't recall it going over any ships headed from America but it is an excllent source for real information, giving the story of the men who worked these ships as well as battle information. It's very interesting.
