Marie Bernadette:
Here are the sketches included in de Marly's Fashion for Men: the oriental, the American, the horsey (??), the sentimental, the Byronic, the cascade, the Bergami, the ball, the mathematical, the Irish, the Maratte, and my personal favorite, the gastronomic (??). De Marly took them from an old fashion plate, c. 1828, contained in H. LeBlanc's publication titled The Art of Tying the Cravat.
Did you want me to post the actual drawings? Will try. Unfortunately, I do not have a scanner and my xerox of the drawings is very poor. However, I can get the book again thru inter-library loan and can probably find someone with a scanner, or I can fax them to you if you need. No problem, but will take a few days.
If you prefer, you can email me at wdhouse@aol.com and let me know. I'll be on the road until Monday.
Ta-ta for now!
