This might be an intersting resource. I received a catalog called MANDERLEY ("A Book Catalog for Women" – whatever that means). The table of contents includes:
Four-star fiction
Lifestyels
The British are Coming
The New Land
Long Ago and Far Away
Contemporary Romance
Suspense
Romance Companions
Regencies
The Romance Companions sections includes resource books for writers, although they are limited in numbers. One is The Writer’s Guide to Everyday Life in the 1800s, but it is based in America not in England (Drat!).
I have not ordered from them yet so cannot speak for their service.
