] I found this when randomly surfing the Internet, and have no idea of its ultimate origin (except that it seems to be drawn in a roughly turn-of-the-century style...)
Gentleman: Look! (points frantically)
Lady: (whips around) What? (while thus engaged, the Gentleman spoons salt into her tea) I don't see anything.
Gentleman: Er...nothing. (the Lady picks up her tea. The Gentleman ill-conceals a snicker. She looks at him quizzically and sips. And chokes. And spits it out. The Gentleman--and I use that term lightly--howls hysterically.)
Lady: (gasping) That was terrible!
Gentleman: (between sputters) I put salt in your tea! (the Lady makes no comment, but merely picks up the teapot and pours the contents over his head and then bashes it quite hard into his head.)
Lady: (satisfied) There. (silence)
Gentleman: Will you marry me?
Lady: Yes. (they retire)
