I remember reading somewhere that JA thought that marrying for money was sinful, but that marrying without some attention to it was foolish. This hardly seems "radical", despite Patrick's obviously well-thought-out support for radicalism in the Elizabeth/Darcy relationship. Or in any of the other "happy marriages" in Austen.
