When he comes to Pembeley, he realises he has some business to attend to, so he rides on ahead of the rest of the Party, leaving his luggage behind with the Bingleys, I presume. How far behind are they...half a day? No real hardship to ride on completely alone, then. But when he is going back to London, and remember it's a two-day trip, he knows he's going to have to stay a while, doesn't he? So he'd need luggage and his valet, etc. there wouldn't be any point in riding and taking a coach as well.I think it's a moot point as to whether riding alone for two days would be faster than travelling by coach, anyway.
