I think Mansfield Park is the most "Enlightenment-based" of her novels---am I right?

I think MP contains on of the least ideal of Austen's heroines. In Fanny we have the anti-hero, or the anti-Elizabeth Bennet. In terms of ideology, I see Austen growing darker, less optimistic over time. The ideal balance of sense/feeling, freedom/compliance seems to deteriorate in subsequent heroines, with the possible exception of Anne Elliot.

Somebody hit me for making broad, sweeping statements. I'm currently re-reading MP, btw. ;-)
