Wedded Bliss, A Victorian Bride's Handbook by Molly Dolan Blayney. Abbeville Press, New York, London, Paris. If you can believe it, I cannot find a copyright date anywhere!

Anyway, the book is terrific. It says Victorian but we know that most of the customs were the same. Many of the customs we know today did not begin until the turn-of-the-century. it's filled with quotes and helpful hints from diaries, letters, newspapers and magazines that give us an unusual insight on just about everything, all of them dated, some as early as 1830,s, both for and from men and women.
