] Firstly, thanks for the book reference- it sounds like a definite one for the biography!
I highly recommend Aristocrats: do put it on the reading list - it contains lots of valuable historical information but its biographical structure makes it very readable - a real case of life being more interesting than fiction!
Which reminds me - is there a link between the "recommended fiction" and Life and times bibliography? If not, should there be?
