Thanks, Myretta. Ilove this question, it's the kind of topic this board was set up for!
Has anyone got a really good description of what "The age of Enlightenment" was? And how the ideas it upheld permeated the whole of society, not just ideas about literature and art? I think a definition would be 'enlightening ' in itself, and offhand I cannot seem to find one........

Also, if anyone wants to connect with that conversation on 'balance' came up in the library that would be good, too!

By the way, Happy New Year, all. Hope you all had a good holiday. Anybody else get the six-volume boxed set of P&P for Christmas?

Yeah, me! Not this Christmas, but last Christmas!And I still think the 'missing scenes' are wonderful!
