Growing lavender

Yes, If you are at all successful, please let us know. I tried for two or three years in a row to grow lavender (from seed, starting them in trays inside) and I couldn't even get it to germinate half the time. I was told to soak the seeds in boiling water to facilitate germination, but that didn't work either. I live in Carleton (read back-of-beyond) which is near Monroe (next-to-the-back-of -beyond) or, in other words, I am about thirty miles south of Detroit. Kalamazoo is almost directly across the state from us.
