] Young woman's dress. Belonged to Christiane Frederikke Holm, born 1799, which means that this dress is probably in the mid- to late 1810's. Described as "Goldenbrown dress, cotton with coloured print" Museum-number 897/1990.

Except for the length, and perhaps the frill on the bodice, this dress does not look too dissimilar from some of the dresses I have seen for sale at our local shopping mall...the empire waist, A-line look appears to be just the thing for the fashion conscious woman of 1997....just about 200 years later! Nice photo, Tilde...thanks for sharing
