This is a general question about early 19th century newspapers. Is there an expert in the house?
Having read Caroline's very interesting post of Dec. 2, I am curious. Did London papers include anything resembling a society column? If so, has anyone ever seen one?
If they existed, how nearly did they resemble a gossip column, or were they strictly news related? Any help, even a semi-informed guess, would be greatly appreciated.
