So since QE2 likes cucumber sandwiches for tea, that makes them a dainty, feminine thing. I certainly hope she never likes a piece of cake with her tea, or I'm in deep trouble!

Seriously though, my experience with them is that they are a light side dish. I never was served just cucumber sandwiches. They were always served with something else. And since they are a light, mild taste, they were never served with anything heavy.

Would you serve chicken salad sandwiches with liver?
