Yesterday at a crafts store I saw an elaborate cross stitch kit which employed drawn thread work. It was a house, and the large front window was made using drawn thread work, so that it looked like a multipaned window (small square panes). Through the window was another layer of stitchery, which represented the inside of the front room, lit up and visible from the street. There were two possible scenes to use: a Christmas tree, or a fancy parlor. It was a very nice effect!
Anyway, I thought it was pretty neat that after learning about this "lost art" here, I should see it used in a brand new cross stitch design.
