Marie, I suppose they went on picnics like the one Col. Brandon invited Elinor and Marianne (and reluctantly, Willoughby) to at his estate at Delaford. Either that, or they had teas and partys. Things thay I would love to do for MY birthday :) .... and also things they still do today.
