night weddings

As regards night weddings and the Roman Church, are you sure? My mother got married in 1967 and night weddings were the usual thing, just like today (at least in Argentina).
My mother got married in 1966 and she also had a night wedding. It was probably Vatican II (1962-3 [I think!]) that changed the rule. My grandmother's wedding was at 8am.
But even today, depending upon how unaccommodating your pastor is (or how much he wishes Vatican II had never happened) Saturday night weddings are often not allowed. The reason given is the vigil service.
I do not know when or if the rule has changed in the Church of England.
