Many of these wealthy townhomes had as many as two or even three carriage houses. The best way to see these alleys, which would have been the back entrance to these homes, would be to look at a London map.

here are the specific locations I know of:

Berkeley Square's: Hay's Mews provided stables and coachhouse for here and adjacent streets.

Grosvenor Square: Bourdon Street provided stabling & coachhouses for Grosvenor Street; Reeves Mews provided this for Upper Grosvenore Street.

Portman Square: Adam's row provided stabling and coachhouses.

Soho Square: stabling and coachhouses provided at Hog Lane.
