I need to clarify this:
] ] Carolyn, I have always thought that she didn't think much of her own work- does this book bear that out?
] Yes. GH was often bothered by the tax man and many of her books were written under pressure to get them done and up for sale, so she could pay her taxes. These books, while thoroughly researched, often did not live up to her own extremely high expectations, and she panned many of her own novels.
She was the harshest critic of her own work.
