Amy Tilde, you made my heart sigh this morning. My Grandma used to do tatting. Her little shuttle was a precious looking silver thing that looked very old and seemed such an odd tool to me as a little girl.

Myretta Amy, my mother used to do tatting. The poor dear tried so hard to teach me, but my coordination is so poor that I couldn't do more than a few loops before the darned thing would knot up. Tilde's post also brought back memories to me.

Me too. My mother and my grandmother both did it, and I remember them turning to each other in exasperation that I would not apply myself.Knit, yes, crochet, maybe. Net, as in hammocks, sometimes. Caning, of chairs, yes. I even mastered macrame, but not Tatting. Was it just more difficult than al l the others, do you think?
