Waltzes revisited - Almacks/permission

I know we've already had a waltz question, but here's something that's been niggling at me: I know that a woman (I'm assuming it only applied to young, unmarried ones) had to get permission at Almacks before she could waltz, but when did that stop? When did waltzing become acceptable enough that no permission was needed?
And did this apply to a woman who "came out" before a London Season? Could she waltz without censure in the country if she never made it to Town?
