What did Willoughby mean?

What is "the hanging of a curricle?" I know what a curricle is. What is its hanging? I am guessing it is probably one of the following three items:

1. Its trappings.
   
2. The way it is harnessed to the horse or horses.
   
3. The way it is stored. Since a curricle is little more than a two-wheel cart, it can probably be stored by "hanging".
