A comment on Northanger and a couple of thoughts..

I am reading Northanger Abbey and I LOVE the way she goes off about novelists when the girls are reading novels.

I always wondered if some (or more than some) of the real 'dandies' were homosexual. I will look up this in a source I have and if I find anything I'll let you know. I get the feeling from my reading that it was a known thing but not something anyone ever mentioned.

Also, a lot of things developed in the sixteenth centuries and earlier kept the same technological level until the 1800's....sheep shearing for instance. The industrial changes that revolutionized the way we produce things were just starting to happen in the 1800's. Right? I am going to research this also. More later.
