Yes, I think they are wonderful. I have also found a couple of good books at the library--one is "Jane Austen's England", by Maggie Lane, and the other is "Jane Austen and Her World", by Marghanita Laski. They both have a lot of detail on JA's life, but also quite a bit about Regency manners and ways. Both are heavily illustrated and well worth reading.
