Some humor...

I know I should post this on the ramble page but I feel that this crowd will really appreciate the humor. I am reading "The Decline and Fall of the House of Windsor" by Daniel Spoto. The following are some amusing exerpts.

"The Queen [Victoria]...loathed both the taste and the ubiquitous ritual of tea. Once, when she had a cold and drank a cup of tea that Brown had prepared, she congratulated him: it was the best brew she had ever tasted. 'Well it should be, Ma'am,' he replied matter of factly. 'I put a grand nip o' whiskey in it.'"

"Perhaps the most memorable moment of their very grand wedding [Princess Mary and Viscount Lascelles] and reception occured when the nearsighted novelist E.M. Forster bowed deeply to the cake, taking it for Queen Mary."
