Just like the "Edwardian time" covers more than just Edward VII's reign--it actually goes from the turn of the century up to WWI, even though Edward died in 1910. These terms are usually rather loose in their timeframe because society only changes over a period of time. In the case of WWI, however, it was a much more sudden change.
