] A friend of mine has had great difficulty finding research sources on horse racing (when/where/details of occasion) in Regency ersa. Can anyone help?

Where.... Newmarket, Epsom, Maybe Cheltenham(but don't bank on that one, I havn't had time to look it up.
One of the most famous races was at Epsom, it was(still is) called The Oaks (after the house where it was concieved )or The Derby (after the Earl).A race for three-year -old fillies, first run in 1780. 1st winner was Diomed. I beleive that Lord Derby lost the first race.
