Caroline, sorry it took me so long to add that link; I said I'd do it that very afternoon earlier in the week and it just slipped my mind.

Gang, it's an out of the way place Caroline ferreted out -- for model makers, but with some good historical naval stuff.

The picture is from the site -- a diorama of the Trafalgar action from some museum. Ed, the pagekeeper isn't clear on which museum, Portsmouth, I gather.

Wonder which one Adm Croft was on. And I wonder how many admirals would be on the scene of such a battle. Fewer then than in these days, I'd imagine.

I found it odd in watching that Denzel Washington/Meg Ryan movie, what was the name of that thing? In the Gulf war? Odd that there was a colonel in a tank. Surely there would not have been a colonel in every tank, but it does seem like there's been kind of a rank inflation? I mean, in the Civil War didn't a colonel command a thousand guys?
