Pre-1979 P&P's- where are they now????

Haley- do you, or anyone, know is BBC archives off any of these old productions? I tried to find out and drew a blank- I ask this because friends of mine in broadcast here have occasionaly been able to point me to original producers/directors of old pre-1970 productions(American) and I've gotton some old productions from American TV via film transfer to VHS. I would dearly love to see these old productions and see what the interpertation of JA was then. Were these productions in color or b&w? Anyone know? Liz
