] These altered flashbacks, as you describe them, as well as the monologue would fit very well into the carriage ride back to Longbourne. Instead of Lizzie just thinking how much she will have to conceal, let her first re-examine her feelings before Darcy's "floating head" appears. They could have shown flashbacks of "offended by neglect" at the assembly and "pleased by the preference" of Wickham at any time while Lizzie was thinking the monologue with a voice-over. O.K.--I know we don't like voice-overs, but here it's an essential one and should have been included! My 2 cents worth!
Ok, who's going to call Andrew Davies and inform him of our decision? Maybe he could recall Jennifer Ehle and reshoot that scene. It could happen! ;-)
