Who, us, enjoy minutiea? Are you insinuating that we have nothing better to do with our time than to disect every frame of film in P&P2?

Now, just what was the difference in the patterns between the Netherfield Ball dress and the Pemberly Look dress?

BLOOMINGTON, IND. - - - Late this afternoon Cheryl attempted inserting an HTML tag into a World Wide Web discussion group message and preliminary reports indicate the daring trial succeeded in producing italic type in most graphical browsers.

"I am so jazzed," Cheryl said moments after viewing her handiwork.

No sooner had the event transpired than her closest net friends counseled her to maintain wariness about the new skill and the pleasurable rewards it can bring. "Hypertext markup language is indeed second only to covering screens with regard to its importance as an accomplishment for a lady," said Caroline Bingley. "But I urge you, Cheryl, not to dwell on its joys too ardently for it is the sort of activity that will come to nothing save idling, obsession and wasted hours."

: Do you think that Mrs. Bennet is a bad mother? She seems to ignore the behavior of her younger daughters. I don't think she has ever tried to discipline them. Also, she is somewhat selfish and often times thoughless. For example, making Jane go on horseback to Netherfield in the rain. It also makes me wonder why such a sensible man like Mr. Bennet would marry someone who lacks sense.

___________________

Men (and women) are not always sensible where marriage is concerned - and as a person whose job it is to attempt injecting sense into people considering marriage, I know this full well. The novel is fairly explicit as to why Mr. Bennet married Mr. Gardiner's sister - check it out.

As to Mrs. Bennet's failings as a mother, they are in league with her failings as a wife and as an adult. Nevertheless, the primary responsibility for discipline, including discipline of Mrs. Bennet, lay with Mr. Bennet - given the era in question. It is his unwillingness to stand to the battle of wills which discipline requires that is at fault.

: Here in Italy, at least in Sicily where I currently reside, "equino" is as common as "bovino" in the meat markets and considerably cheaper. For some local dishes it is the preferred meat. I, personally, have a hard time eating it without feeling like I have just had a bit of Mr. Ed. I rarely inquire as to the source of the meat served any more.

Anne, I knew you meant the 1987 version. I agree that Lizzy in P&P1 had a prettier, more pleasing voice. I wonder, was Ehle singing or was it dubbed? If it was dubbed, you'd think they'd have gotten someone who could sing better. Therefore, it was probably Ehle.
As to Lizzy's singing in P&P2, I didn't think it was particularly good, but then they may have had somewhat different standards then..

P.S. I found that all of the piano playing in P&P2 was mediocre.

Don't be frightened! Here are two very usefull HTML tags:

1) Italics--simply surround the words you want italicised with and .

2) Bold face--simply surround the words you want italicised with and .

The brackets tell the browser that it is HTML and the letters "i" and "b" denote italics and bold-face respectively. The backslash tells the machine to stop italicising or bold-facing the text.

Give it a try, it's not hard.

Try this again.
Don't look at the regular message text, look at how it appears in the "Comments" window below. (The problem is I don't know how to show the tags, without them disappearing).

Now Eris, didn't you cause enough trouble the last time? I know the rest of the gods snubbed you, but ten years of war was a bit hard on the mortals, don't you think? But if you are intent on going ahead, make sure that instead of "Kallisti" the apple is engraved "Kallistos"--hate to see any more cunfusion than necissary.

But then, confusion and discord is your speciallty, isn't it?

For those familiar with the satirical song Give Me That Old Time Religion:

We will worship Aphrodite.
She looks cute in her pink nighty.
Although, she's rather flighty,
She's good enough for me!

We will worship godess Eris
And find out who is the fairest,
Then we'll all chase after Paris.
That's good enough for me!

I notice in the missing scene at the Meryton assembly the music is a little sour.
