Oh, who am I trying to kid anyway by not posting. I could no more have an idea for a quick graphic and not act on it than I could slam the door in Mr Darcy's face.
What do you think we are rated here? PG-13?

: You weren't gone very long. It is a good thing because I didn't say good bye. Good bye, like your hat. Hello, like your graphic. Anyway you can't forget the missings scenes. P-G 13 usually means bad language doesn't in all forms.

Donna, my dear,
Have you ever considered a warning label for yourself? If you can see the graphic, why have I been fooling around with it for a 1/2 hour? I can't see it. This happened to Henry once and everybody else could see it but him. I am going to bed. I am only 42 and need my rest.

How does a marriage of such opposites function? Mr. Bennet's character is fantastically sarcastic!

So far as I can tell it doesn't function anymore. It looks to me as though all it ever had going for it was lust.
Mr. Bennet's character is fantastically sarcastic!

I am so excited that A&E will be showing P&P again! It comes on at 6:00 am here so I will have to plug my headphones into the T.V. so as not to wake my roommate up. Hey, I'll do just about anything to watch this movie!! Unfortunately, I haven't found anyone here at school that is willing to get up that early to view it with me. Oh well, that is life I guess. Thanks for doing this page so Austen addicts like me can find and talk to other addicts that actually understand what the heck I'm talking about! --Sarah

: Hi. I am sorry I am one more Ann, kind of. I am 14 and just read P&P. I asked my mom if this was an okay place to read messages and she looked at it and wasn't sure. This morning I asked her again and she said she had a god idea. That I should ask you if you would want your 14 old dauhters in here. She said she thought you seemed like nice people. That she would consider what you think about it. Thank you.

Hey, there, Anika. My daughter, Sarah, peruses this BB with me frequently, since she, too, is most fond of
Mr. Darcy, et al. She has read Emma, Pride and Prejudice, and some of Mansfield Park. She has seen the current production of Emma, P&P1 - 2 or 3 times, P&P2 - at least a dozen times, Persuasion - 4 times. She loves the downloaded photos of Darcy and Lizzy--even wanted one of Bingley. Since she qualifies because of the above-listed accomplishments to be considered an Austenite and definitely a P&P2 addict (possibly the only addiction I would consider allowing), she is welcomed to participate if she chooses. Actually, since you posted this note, I'm going to encourage her to do just that! Welcome aboard!

: I think Darcy's calling to take his leave was more good manners than anything. He didn't want to see her and was releved when she wasn't in- perhaps he even made the call then because he thought she would still be out on her walk and reading his letter? But to not call would have been unthinkable socially and would have drawn much more attention and speculation than he wanted.

I always took his showing up to be before he gave her the letter. When she wasn't in, he went away directly and wandered in the grove trying to find her.

When I was in the process of searching for a good place to discuss Jane Austen, I found a lot of web sites and pages that were downright dirty! This one, I am happy to say, is not. I felt that everyone seems to keep in the spirit of JA and is not mean or, well, shall we say, crude. I am glad that this is a sort of "home" for all of us addicts to come discuss JA without all the hassel from revelers. --Sarah

: By the way she wasn't really playing the piano. Carl Davis played all the pieces in the film.

: I'd assume it was Ehle singing also, but I think the actors played the fortepianos and the music we hear is Carl Davis's playing--it was dubbed over the actors' playing, according to "The Making of P&P." There's a funny anecdote about the actress who played Mary Bennet, who said she practiced so much she nearly drove her fiance mad.

The actors played a muted piano during the filming.

I think, since I don't even recall seeing bad language here, that a PG would suffice. (I've seen naked people and heard cursing on PG movies!) We'd probably rate a G.
The worst you'll probably see here is some TRULY AWFUL SPELLING, occasional hormonal rantings, occasional lusty lingo (implying lusty longings) and some good-humored teasing (the okay kind).

Hello, everyone. I have just been kicked off the Austen-L for daring to suggest that the list manager shouldn't automatically exclude all AOL and Prodigy accounts just because one or two people from AOL and/or Prodigy were pests on the list. If I'd have known I'd be kicked off for such a benign statement, i'd have said something much worse!
But this seems like a good place for me. I loved P&P2 and I of course own the tapes and chat on the FirthList..
I must say that I actually loved P&P1 -- the one with D. Rintoul and E. Garvie --,too. Does that make me a bad person?

: Mr dear fellow addicts,
: I'll only be half here for a couple of weeks. Will delete posts and keep up the archive, watch for porn, but not post and think as a participant or take the time to make funny pictures and welcome newcomers and stuff like that. Any hobby time I have must go to rebabilitate my other sadly neglected site, the World Nap Organization, since it will be mentioned in the December issue of Glamour. Back with you wholeheartedly as soon as that is accomplished and I meet a couple real work deadlines.
: Affectionately,

While I've been trying to reduce my time spent here for a while, I can't help but notice something wild happening today. A record number of hits, close to 700 today, and a record number of posts as well, with more than two high traffic hours to go. I am curious, since I don't track what links bring new people here. Please email and tell where your new folks came from. Are we mentioned on some student page or something? Looks like a lot of new posters with *.edu domains.

: Everytime I get to the Pemberly music scene I try to restrain myself not to rewind it for several times in fear of wearing my favorite part of the tape out, but I haven't succeeded once. The scene is trully breath-taking - I found myself literally holding my breath as I going through those looks, I shall die of suffocation should they make the scene any longer :)
