Pemberley Shades is better. I jjst read it and Tennant's two sequels a few weeks ago. In Pemberley Shades, the Darcys have beautiful baby boy and they are pretty happy. The main plot evolves around the death of the clergyman of the parish. It's a quick read and while it isn't completely satisfying, it is A LOT better than Tennant's, mainly because Bonavia-Hunt is not preocupied with ruining their marriage.

Of course you make sense. I should check how the book may differ in this segment, but in the video it seems that the goings on between Darcy and lizzy should be apparent to even the casual observer, especially the Colonel. Although the book brings him in as a potential suitor which is not included in the video, so perhaps he was more concerned with his own interests in Lizzy. It does seem hard to miss, though, doesn't it?

: ::Would not the Colonel,Lady Cath(and the Collinses) wonder why he was so distraught that he refused to come to dinner.

Yes, this is why I feel that Charlotte more then anyone watching events unfold always question Lizzie about his visit trying to understand why he would come to the parsonage, but they would then think that it couldn't be possible that he was in love with her. After the proposal I think Charlotte had to ask one of the servants if they had any visitors or maybe even the servants over heard the whole thing between L&D and said something to Charlotte. Then to return to Rosings very upset, someone would have to question where he was. ____________ I think the Colonel does realised that Darcy had been refused because Darcy had spoken of Lizzy before and Fitzwilliam I think suspected that Darcy was in love with her.But I also think that Fitzwilliam knew that Lizzy did't like Darcy because earlier when Lizzy and Fitz are walking Fitz tells Lizzy about the part Darcy had played in the Jane/Bingley affair and Lizzy gets really angry and say's that Darcy had no right to interfere and Fitz is surprised at her answerand asks her does she think that Darcy's interference was officious.Lizzy says yes and Fitzwiliam is wondering why would she say something like that about the

man who wants to marry her if she did'nt love him.Am I making any sense. The Col. dosen't know Lizzies true feelings only the way Darcy feels. The conversation at the parsonage between the Col. and Lizzie is not in the book Also he doesen't know it is her sister that he talking about.
Just because he is in love with her doesn't mean she returns the same feeling. In the book he told the Col. if her family were to know they would be very upset. Darcy was delightfuly surprised. I wonder how he thinks she found out about his interference. Someone always spells the beans. I am sure the Col. felt stupid after Bingley and Jane got married.

ciao Donna ____________

Plus when they leave Rosings they are together and it does say the Col. and Darcy are close to each other then just being related. For Darcy to tell the Col about Bingley of course he didn't tell him the exact name and how mush he thought of Lizzie, I think he would tell him about being refused.

As to Darcy's shirt, that is the type he always wears apparently. You are right Joan, too, that it is the same in the swim and also when he has finished his letter at Rosings and is splashing his face with water. I guess that is all he had for "casual" wear.

In addition to the costuming choice being so very sweet, it also serves to play up Darcy's statement to Miss Bingley.

"Yes,'' replied Darcy, who could contain himself no longer, "but
that was only when I first knew her, for it is many months since I have considered her as one of the handsomest women of my acquaintance.''
