: Poor Kitty!! Everyone always picks on her, especially Mrs. Bennet who makes Kitty cry. Accusing Kitty's coughing for the pain of her "poor nerves!" As if Kitty could help her coughing. I feel sorry for Kitty and I think people should show more respect toward her even if she is a little be silly and foolish sometimes.

I would imagine that the lost of her younger sister and her own maturity
earned her a great deal more respect.
You are right about her being picked on.

: : Can't you just imagine a tete a tete with Mrs Bennet and Darcy! Wedding night at longbourne-what a scary thought!
: : I thought, in the movie at least, since they were going away in a carriage and leaving the Bennets behind, they were going to Pemberly, but it does seem too far away.
: : Marsha
:

Wedding night at Longbourn would have definitely been out of the question. Someone suggested staying over
at the house of some friends on the way to Pemberley and I really do think that
this is probably the best alternative.
Darcy would have died at Pemberley! I can just picture Mrs. Bennet knocking on their door every few minutes
to enquire as to enquire as to how they were doing.

I believe longbourn is about 25 miles from London. Since Darcy said that
twice that distance (to Kent) was scarcely half a day's journey, I belive
the house in town is a definite possibility. I always figured they would not
wish to impose on Bingley and Jane, nor would they wish to spend the night
in some inn somewhere, so my vote is for London. (But what do Georgiana and
Fitzwilliam do?)

Does the Colonel stay at the Darcy house when in town? Makes sense but I don't remember that part. As I am rereading -- first time since my addiction to the series took hold -- I realize I have pushed a lot of the real details into the darkness.

I am the youngest of three. My brother and my sister both had several of
their pictures hanging on the stairs; the ONLY picture of me was in the
laundry room in the basement!!! Then for one of my Mom's birthdays I borrowed a
hideously ornate picture frame from a friend, put the picture from the
laundry room in it, and hung it over the mantle. After that my mom got the

Ah! this is indeed wider (but hopefully not too wide for those with small screens?)
However, any lines longer than the one above still scroll off the screen at the right. I don't know exactly which things are under the control of the browser and which of the server, but if there were any way to make the text within this window stay wrapped inside it, that would be wonderful!

The Billiards Room

Yes, I agree. In P&P2, I think they capture Lizzy's ambivalance perfectly in the billiards room scene at Netherfield. When she walks in and finds Darcy alone, she is left speechless (and so is he.) She has none of her usual defenses at the ready. She isn't even able to say something witty and excuse herself. She just looks at him... and what a look! There's confusion, fear, and maybe even a little bit of challenge in that look. This is obviously territory that Lizzy's never traveled before. You get the feeling Darcy's the first to inspire this much emotion in her. Ehle makes Lizzy look vulnerable for once. It was well done. Reading the book, one can only speculate about how long Lizzy has really loved Darcy. In the series, you get the feeling it's pretty much from Day 1.

Firth's look in the billiards room is great too. There's surprise. Then, it's like he wants to ask her to stay but is afraid to or can't think of an excuse to. Both seem to realize instantly as their eyes meet that something extraordinary has happened to them.
