I guess I've always wondered -- but never bothered to find out -- when she said that. If it was before she started writing, maybe things took a little turn, characters took over the story. But that's another thing I don't know because I haven't read enough critisism or biography -- was her plan for this book more or less elaborate or plastic than the plans for the others?
