I had originally watched it after having seen "Pride and Prejudice" on A&E, and at the time, found that "Persuasion" was nothing compared to P&P. Now I find it equally good, though really it's hard to compare a two-hour movie to a six-hour TV movie.

] ] Watching the movie really made the book come alive for me. I didn't appreciate it nearly as much before; but when they get to FW's letter in the movie--I cried, I really did, and continue to get chills every time I read it, or think about the movie. It's great!

] I was very slow to pick up on "Persuasion". But now it's my favorite JA. Is it worth seeing the 1970 version?

Although it is not so good as the new one... I really liked seeing it because of the length.. it had more of book and was therefore "better" in a lot of ways... definantly worth taking a look at :)
