Yes. I had it in my mind that JA's heroines were all good. Their faults weren't "fatal" faults; they were just misguided, and they found the truth in the end. (I hadn't even read Emma at that point--I had heard that there was a movie coming out, so I didn't want to read the book first, and go into the movie comparing it too much to the "real thing.") By the time I got to LS, though, I had read the other 5 novels, so you can understand how I was thrown for a loop with LS.
btw, It's good to be back! I've had limited free time irl this week, so I haven't been able to go everywhere at Pemberley that I normally do, so I've been missing it.
