Huck Finn right now in some parts of the country because of certain racial words (very unpleasant and emotionally charged here in the US), and in pre-civil rights days, in other parts of the country, because the friendship between Jim and Huck was seen as threatening. The Bible because of sex, adultery, the usual sanctimonious crapola (Song of Solomon IS pretty racy). America is frequently a very wierd place because of its size and extremely diverse population. Only recently is it becoming more homogenized, not necessarily for the better. The history of censorship has a long and unusual background here.
