] I don't actually understand why Mark Twains books suddenly get uninteresting because of some of his opinions. That has nothing to do with the value of his literature, has it? (But I assure you, I didn't like what he said at all! :-) )

] I didn't mean to say that all of the sudden his books are bad because of his opinion of Jane. To be honest, I have never read his work. It might be very good, and, certainly, the value of his literature has nothing to do with his opinions of other writers. But I think his comments tainted my opinion of him. Who knows, maybe I'll read one of his books eventually. I was just really surprised about what he wrote about Jane.
